Despite already being completely in love with Portland and it's surrounding area we've started making plans to leave for our fall trip to Missouri. If you like you can view our schedule for our November trip on my calender. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
Backwards Forewords
The foreword and index to all the chapters of my being.
Push Me, Pullman
Or how I learned to stop worrying and hopefully love the Northwest.

How Long? How fast? For how long?
Too Soon Or Too Late
This undeniably poppy speed metal band mixes video game sound effects with Anime style lyrics to form a unique sound you’ll either hate to love or love to hate.
Depth Does Matter
Formed from volcanic eruptions over 7000 years ago, Crater Lake proves it's not size but depth that matters. What's so great about those 7 lakes on the US-Canadian border? This is where the true greatness is. Measuring in at 1,943 feet it is the deepest lake in North America and 7th deepest in the world. Other than a beatiful crystal blue lake reflecting the surrounding crater rim the National Park boasts many other volcanic remnants. - view photos
That's Some Big Wood
See that blue match stick in the bottom left corner? That's Amanda next to "The Big Tree", a 1500 year old redwood that reaches the length of a football field into the sky. To stand amidst these ancient living giants is a humbling experience that really puts into perspective how small our existence really is. This is a trip that should be on everyone's life to do list. - view photos
Yes, They're For Real
Love it or hate it, after hearing it you at least owe it to yourself to watch it. It might just be one of the most unintentionally funny things you see in a while. - watch video
Daytrippin' Loraine
South of Eugene is the easily overlooked town of Lorane. And tucked away down a long gravel road is the quaint Chateau Lorane. Perched above its own private lake the winery hosts one of the most generous wine tastings you'll find, twelve wines with no tasting fee. Afterwards you can pick up some fresh produce and continue your tastings at the less generous but more grandiose King Estates Winery.
Eating Out

To combat the effects of free wine we decided to get a bite to eat before heading to our second tasting and the local General Store came highly recommended. Although inside and out it may look like any other small town store, this is the home of "Mark's Death By Burger". What goes better between sips of wine than a juicy hamburger packed with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoe, pickles, onions, jalapenos, garlic and special hot sauce on a bun that's the size of your face? 8.0 - view photo
